Subcontracts Engineer Job at Subsea Engineering Company
We are recruiting for a Subsea engineering company who have a large project to deliver in Nigeria. They are looking for people with experience in subcontracts in the Subsea arena.
Subcontracts Engineer - Nigeria
The Subcontracts Engineer will be based in our clients offices in Lagos, Nigeria. The Subcontract Engineer will be accountable for the Contractual performance of the allocated Subcontractors and/or Suppliers. The position will provide an interface to regional head office management and regional bid departments with the local IN Country office. It is anticipated that the position shall also be required to support and supplement live project teams for Nigeria projects from time to time IN country.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
*Initiate the preparation of local ITT packages (excluding the Scope of Work, HSE and QA)
*Prepare subcontract tender documentation and ensure complete package is sent for Inter Discipline Check
*Ensure terms and conditions of subcontracts are in accordance with Company standards and agreed project conditions
*Issue ITT to tenderers
*Sub-contract bid evaluations will form an integral part of the job holder’s function together with writing contractual requirements for sub-contract work
*Administer commercial / contractual clarifications during Tender negotiation stage
*Formal receipt and opening of tenders
*Receive commercial quotes from subcontractors and suppliers and incorporate into bid tab and prepare analysis and recommendations.
*Prepare all required approval documentation and organise Tender Board meeting where required
*Collate Subcontract Document and ensure IDC process is followed
*Issue Subcontract Document to Subcontractors and obtain signed original documents.
*Administration of Subcontracts post award
*Negotiation and processing of VOR’s and VO’s
*Receive and process invoices for approval/payment; administration of reimbursable items
*Ensure all contractual and commercial documentation is received/processed for close-out
*Administration of subcontractor bank bonds, parent company guarantees and insurance certificates
*Report monthly commercial status and budget forecasts for all non project local subcontracts
*Assist Country Manager with contractual and commercial matters
Skills
The ideal candidate should be a good communicator, competent negotiator and team motivated
Good understanding and experience of subcontracts and supply agreements
Qualifications and Education
High school/secondary education completed to a reasonable standard specifically English (should be fluent in spoken and written English) and Maths
Specified Qualifications for position:
The ideal candidate will have as a minimum an HND, but preferably will be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying/Law/Business Management or similar

Rotation of 6 weeks working in Lagos, Nigeria with 2 weeks leave
